B.S. (Civil Engineering)/MBA Combined Degree Program
The Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering and the School of Management offer a five-year program leading to a combined degree in B.S. (civil engineering)/MBA (master's degree in business administration). This program reduces, by one year, the usual pattern of a four-year undergraduate degree and a two-year MBA program.
Students wishing to pursue the joint program should take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) and apply to the MBA program during their junior year. Applications are considered on a "rolling" basis beginning in January, with July 1 as the target deadline. Currently, the middle 80 percent of admitted students have GMAT scores in the range 560 - 670.
Candidates must meet all the degree requirements of each program, except for the reduction of 18 credit hours in the total credit hours required for the usual pattern of a four-year B.S. (civil engineering) degree and a two-year MBA degree. Students entering the eighth semester of this program will be considered graduate students and charged tuition at the graduate rate from that point on.
Applications for the joint five-year program may be obtained from the MBA Program Office in 206 Jacobs. For additional information and a current summary of the curriculum, contact the CSEE Director of Undergraduate Studies.
